How To Take Screenshots with an iPhone or iPod Touch

If you want to learn how to take a screenshot with your iPhone or iPod, then read on.  You might have noticed that pretty much all the gossip submitted at Girl Wars Gossip includes screen captures as supporting evidence.

Like anyone really wants to read completely baseless rumors, what’s the fun in that?  Truth is always better than total fiction!

So here’s a quick how-to on taking screenshots of your iPhone/iPod Touch display.  This works with any version of the iPhone, and all versions of the iPod Touch.

When you have the item you want the screenshot of ready on your device, press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button quickly at the same time (check the photo to the right for button location).   Hold for about 3 seconds, and release both at the same time:

You’ll see a quick flash on the screen (and hear the camera shutter sound if you have speakers).  Voilà, you’ve made a screenshot that can now be found in your photo album (under “camera roll”).  From there, you can now easily email your screenshot!

To make quick posting easier for The Diva (and to remove your player info from the screenshot), consider using one of the free image cropping apps, like Photoshop.com Mobile or Crop for Free. Using these apps will let you crop out your personal information, so all anyone ever lays eyes on is the gossip you submit.  Keep in mind, the easier it is for The Diva to use your screenshot, the faster and more likely it is your gossip will be posted!
